Amy's Technology Page

A Wiki page is continuously under revision. Its purpose is the sharing of a creative process and the product is the result of many people's input. The greatest potential of a Wiki page is student participation in the on going creation and evolution of the Wiki. It can also be a communication page with parents. Finally, as a follow-up after professional development workshops. I will probably use it to exchange ideas with fellow teachers on teaching ideas and to receive input on students.

We also got into Fusion and made a teacher website. I will use this site educate my parents on the concepts being taught in my classroom over a period of time.

The Teach PDP met after school and I read information on thedifferent uses of Wikki pages. I also viewed a short video on setting up a page in Wikki. Tina and I also discussed merging the curriculum on our fusion page. We outlined what we would like on our Fusion pages to inform our parents.

The PDP group discussed the staff profile photo dilemna. Should we or should we not use or photos? Some members (myself included) have other photos beside our names on Fusion. We then worked on setting up our website. (It took quite awhile as we needed lots of private tutoring.) MUCH THANKS TO MARCIA!

The PDP group met in Mrs. Swan's room to explore new programs that can be used on the SMART Board. I got a lot of new ideas to use with my first graders. I particularly liked the educational games that was introduced on nonsense fluency.

Our PDP group met at our computer lab. We worked on our Wikis for one hour. We then went over to the Big Horn High School to take a professional developement class on myOn reader. It provides access to high quality online books that are high interest to students. It will be a great reading program to implement with my first graders.
